Letter from a Customer

Dear Steve,

I purchased Learn and Master the guitar in June and have been playing almost daily since… I was playing almost daily prior to that but I desired structure and more information than that which I was receiving and I was blessed to find your program.

In a word… no a word won’t do… in many words… wow, amazing, fantastic, great, awesome, and incredible.

I am so impressed with the quality and the content of the program. I am also impressed with your magnificent teaching ability and that expressed through a DVD! I feel like I am sitting right in front of you and I am wholly relaxed while I learn.... I play with along with you, listen intently to you, laugh with you and marvel at the your timing of comments… it is almost uncanny…

Briefly, I am a 51 year old airline captain who has always dabbled in music but never accomplished any instrument. I played tenor sax as a kid (a bit as an adult), played the piano to grade 2 Royal Conservatory classical, and had a guitar all my life but only knew how to strum a few chords. Through the prompting of my son, who does play, about five months ago I made a deal with a high school music teacher to show me a bit of guitar. I had recently purchased a book entitled the Heavy Guitar Bible… and told it was very good. Well it might be but it very quickly goes over my head. So for months I have been practicing the modes (Ionian, Dorian etc) and not really playing anything… a few things I picked up on the internet but still I was not progressing.

To cut a long story short, I stumbled across your program while searching for guitar instruction on the net. Somewhere I read that your program was probably the best out there but was expensive. I was expecting to find out it cost $600 or something… to my delight I purchased your bonus program for the sale price of $149! That is certainly NOT expensive.

Right from the get go of the first DVD I said “wow”… thanks to some of my background I have been progressing rapidly through the sessions and should start session 6 this week… I suspect I will be slowing down by sessions 7 & 8! Much of what I have learnt so far has been a review but much new also… I am thankful for your instruction to be patient and progress slowly even with some background (my son just started your program yesterday and I told him to do the same… and he is an awesome guitar player already but he plays mostly by ear and wants to learn the structure and theory…. And lose any bad habits). I sincerely look forward to the challenges and new material ahead. I think Barre chords are going to slow me down a bit BUT that is okay… I am learning and getting better every day… albeit I don’t see it until I review past lessons and marvel at my improvement.

One of the reasons that I am writing is to tell you that from the first DVD I said to myself… I think this man is a Christian. And sure enough, reading your acknowledgements at the end of the book, your thanking the Lord, confirmed my thoughts! What the Spirit of the Lord is capable of sharing always blows me away! Needless to say, I too am a Christian and love our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I wish to play to honor and to glorify Him! (Can I do that playing David Gilmour music? )

I just want to encourage you and thank you for all you have provided. I pray that the Lord continues to bless you and your family and I look forward to one day meeting you… if not here then at home with Him in glory. So Steve, thanks. Thanks from the bottom of my heart. I have several guitars now and carry a Taylor travel guitar with me as I fly around the world. I play my Fender Strat at home and will press on with diligence and patience as I slowly but surely become a real guitar player.
