We've seen some really cool things out on the web in the last few days, and a few of them have to do with making your own guitars. When you're trying to learn to play guitar, the last thing on your mind may be actually building your own guitar. But if you are of the crafty nature, you may have a good time building a guitar while you learn how to play. Here are two different ideas for building out your own guitar.

If you'd like something really unique, try making a cigar box guitar. While it only has three strings, this would be really fun to practice playing solos on.

The other really fun "homemade" guitar is one made out of an IKEA cutting board. This design may be a little too intense for many, but the results are absolutely gorgeous.
