March 2013 Video Tip: Playing Chuck Berry “Boogie Woogie” Guitar
Friday, March 8th, 2013One of the most common riffs you’ll ever play on guitar is the Chuck Berry “Boogie Woogie” riff. This lesson shows how to play this much-used guitar riff in open keys as well as any other place on the neck. It’s an important riff for any guitarist to have in their bag of tricks. Enjoy! -Steve

Hi Steve – thanks for the monthly tips. Keeps things interesting. I’m still relatively new to learning music theory using L&M Guitar course. Have played guitar & chords for decades. But even for this simple tip a tab for a few bars would help. I still need visual reminders. At my level hard to remember what your doing when you say just add a finger here to pick up a B or A note or 4th etc. I’m just not there yet. thanks again.

Good stuff but we need the tab. It’s not so easy to see what you’re playing without the tab.

Thanks for the all the help. Raised in the 50s and 60s so enjoy the old style of Chuck Berry, Duane Eddy, B B King, Carl Perkins, Muddy Waters, Arthur “Guitar Boogie” Smith, Les Paul, the Ventures, and others. I also like Brad Paisley and his “Play” album with Keith Urban. Duane Eddy style slow and with power is my favorite guitar music. Would like to learn to play his music. Again thanks for all the tips. I have the Learn and Master course.
